Credit Suisse sees Russia’s 2022 GDP growth slowing down to 2.4%

MOSCOW, Jan 13 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth will slow down to 2.4% from 4.4% in 2022, and rise to 2.7% in 2023, Credit Suisse said in a research note on Thursday.

“We expect real GDP growth to decelerate to 2.4% from 4.4% in 2022, after which higher growth rates of 2.7% will ensue in 2023,” the document read.

The inflation risks will be high, but lower than in 2021 thanks to lower supply pressure.

“Russia’s inflation amounted to 8.4% in annual terms, which is much higher than we expected at the beginning of 2021, and significantly higher than the central bank’s target of 4%, Credit Suisse said.
